Star Wars - Episode III, Revenge of the Sith
When I first read what George Lucas said about Star Wars - Episode III, Revenge of the Sith about how it was a more "emotional" episode I was already disappointed. I did not want another emotional flick. Goodness knows Star Wars - Episode II, Attack of the Clones ads was sickening enough (granted the absence of Jar Jar Binks was a decided plus).
However, I was thoroughly pleased with the movie. The opening sequence begins with a good battle scene. The type of excitement I had not experienced since the final space fight over the 2nd Death Star from Star Wars Episode VI - Return of the Jedi.
There were a few moments, again between Anakin and Padme that could have been made a little less mushy but then you cannot have everything.
The transformation of Anakin into Darth Vader was not as startling as the transformation of Senator Palpatine into the scarred and deformed Emperor. It could have packed a more knock-out value. Instead it seemed rushed. Just get it over and done with.
The final fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan was impressive and the donning of the Darth Vader mask finally brought this second trilogy to an end.
A good movie all in all. I have seen it 5 times already and will always be glad of another viewing though I will probably skip all scenes that involve Padme and Anakin together.
